Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said on Wednesday that there have been no contacts between Moscow and Bern considering the Ukrainian summit which was held in Switzerland last weekend. Zakharova added that Russia no longer considers Switzerland as a "neutral party" and pointed out that Moscow has previously informed Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis about it.
However, Cassis previously noted that Switzerland plans to continue relations with Russia after the Ukraine peace conference, stressing that the two countries "have regular contacts."
The two-day peace summit on Ukraine ended with 78 countries signing a joint statement that noted that Ukraine's "territorial integrity" should serve as the basis for a peace agreement with Russia and calls on Kiev to enter dialogue with Moscow to end the war. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Moscow could be forced into peace through diplomatic means or with a strong defense.
