Siemens Energy announced on Friday a deal to become the exclusive supplier of key conventional technology for Rolls-Royce's future small modular nuclear reactors (SMRs).

The deal, expected to be finalized by the end of 2025, will see Siemens Energy providing steam turbines, generators, and auxiliary systems for Rolls-Royce's Generation 3+ modular nuclear plants.

The partnership comes amid a growing global push for SMRs, which promise faster and cheaper deployment compared to traditional large-scale nuclear plants. "We are currently experiencing a global renaissance of nuclear energy," said Siemens Energy board member Karim Amin.
