Musk aims for 50M H100-class AI units in five years

Billionaire and entrepreneur Elon Musk shared on Tuesday that xAI's target is to have 50 million units of H100 equivalent-AI compute online within five years.

"230k GPUs, including 30k GB200s, are operational for training Grok @xAI in a single supercluster called Colossus 1 (inference is done by our cloud providers). At Colossus 2, the first batch of 550k GB200s & GB300s, also for training, start going online in a few weeks," he detailed in a post on X.

The tech mogul insisted that xAI's speed is "unmatched," adding that nothing is close to it.
