Musk confirms axing half of X's election integrity unit

EPA-EFE/SHAWN THEW

Tesla Inc. Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and X Corp. Chairman Elon Musk confirmed several members of the latter company's eponymous social media platform's election integrity team have been fired.

"Yeah, they're gone," Musk wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter, when asked if there was any truth to an earlier report.

The allegations about the team being halved came after European Commission Vice President for Values and Transparency Vera Jourova claimed that X featured the "largest ratio of mis/disinformation posts" compared to other social media platforms.
