Elon Musk, CEO and founder of Space Exploration Technologies Corp. (SpaceX), announced on Tuesday that the spacecraft manufacturer will relocate its headquarters from Hawthrone, California to Starbase, Texas, as a consequence of recently implemented laws that are detrimental to both families and businesses. Also, X Corp. offices will be moved to Austin.
During the day, California Governor Gavin Newsom signed the AB 1955 law which prohibits schools from implementing policies that require notify parents if a child identifies as transgender. With this, California is now the first state in the US to ban schools from forcing teachers to inform parents about changes in a student’s gender identity or sexual orientation, without the student’s consent.
"I did make it clear to Governor Newsom about a year ago that laws of this nature would force families and companies to leave California to protect their children," Musk wrote in X.
