SpaceX and Tesla CEO Elon Musk took to his X profile on Tuesday and said that escalating the conflict with the United States President Donald Trump is "so, so tempting," but that he will "refrain for now."

Musk made the statement in a reply to a video of Trump telling journalists that he may "have to take a look" into the matter of Musk's potential deportation. Trump also said that Musk was "upset" about losing the electric vehicle mandate, warning that "he could lose more than that."

The clash between the president and the billionaire CEO started in May when Musk left his government position at the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and later criticized Trump's "big, beautiful bill."
