Billionaire and entrepreneur Elon Musk, who is currently leading the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), visited United States President Donald Trump in the Oval Office on Tuesday to follow the signing of more executive orders.

During his visit, Musk insisted that without cutting the federal spending the country would go "bankrupt," adding that "it's not optional to reduce federal expenses, it's essential." Trump backed him, stating that if he thought there was a conflict of interest with Musk, "we wouldn't let him do that." Meanwhile, the tech mogul shared he expects to be scrutinized.

The two also said that there were "a lot of kickbacks in the government." "There could be close to $1 trillion of waste that we're going to find," the US president stated.
