Myanmar's ruling junta's spokesperson said on Monday that the number of people who died in the country after the 7.7-magnitude earthquake reached 2,056.
According to the spokesperson's statement, 3,900 more people were injured, while 270 others were still missing. Meanwhile, the death toll in Thailand, Myanmar's neighboring country that was also struck by the earthquake, reached 19, with 70 people still missing.
