North Korea slammed the recent visit (pictured) of Julie Turner, the United States special representative for North Korean human rights, to South Korea earlier this week to discuss human rights issues in the country, Yonhap reported, citing KCNA.
"If you are a true champion of human rights, go to the Middle East," Pyongyang expressed in a commentary carried by KCNA. The country called the US visit to Seoul a "double standard" toward human rights issues, stating that the US is using human rights concerns as a "tool for invasion and interference in domestic affairs."
The country further stressed that its citizens would have suffered "the same fate" as the Palestinians, had North Korea not invested in its weapon arsenals.
