The North Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) criticized Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba after he made a ritual offering to the Yasukuni Shrine, which honors Japanese soldiers who died in war, 14 of whom were convicted by the Allied forces after World War II.

The KCNA denounced the move, calling it an attempt to establish the "toxin of militarism" across their country. The agency also stated that Japan was in the final preparations for a continental invasion after it launched the Self-Defense Forces (SDF) Joint Operation Command and planned revisions to its constitution.

"A reinvasion by Japan, which has systematically and holistically pushed for political and military rearmament, is no longer a matter of anticipation but is becoming a reality before our very eyes," the KCNA said.
