North Korea's Foreign Ministry spokesperson condemned the United States for the alleged changes to its strategic nuclear plan to focus on threats from China, Russia, and North Korea and vowed to build up the country's nuclear forces in response.
"The DPRK [Democratic People's Republic of Korea] will as ever bolster up its strategic strength in every way to control and eliminate all sorts of security challenges that may result from the US dangerous nuclear posture readjustment, and resolutely counter any type of nuclear threat," the spokesperson said.
Pyongyang plans to "push forward" to create a capable nuclear force that would act as a deterrent and defend the country's sovereignty against threats, the spokesperson emphasized while accusing Washington of "exaggerating nuclear threats" from other countries.
