The United States believes there is a "genuine possibility" that North Korea will conduct a nuclear test during Biden's trip to Asia, United States National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan said at a press conference on Wednesday.
Sullivan noted that the tests could include long-range missiles, a nuclear test, or both in the days leading up to the president's trip to the region. "We are preparing for all contingencies, including the possibility that such a provocation would occur while we are in Korea or Japan."
The advisor also added that the US and its allies in the area would respond to any such provocations. Finally, he confirmed that Unites States President Joe Biden will not visit the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ).
