NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg condemned on Wednesday North Korea's attempted military satellite launch, saying it "raises tensions and poses serious risks to the security of the region and beyond." He added that the launch is "in blatant breach of multiple United Nations Security Council resolutions."
Stoltenberg called on North Korea to return to dialogue in order to achieve lasting peace and the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula. He reaffirmed NATO's support for its regional partners South Korea and Japan amid North Korea's "provocative actions."
