United States National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) member Todd Inman (pictured) stated that the board won't recommend any changes until the report about the crash of an American Airlines plane and a military helicopter is finished, CNN reported.
"Once this investigative report comes out, we will be advocating – probably for years – for changes that need to be made," adding that the agency will not speculate until they have "the facts."
According to the NTSB board member, this incident "should not have happened," as multiple layers of redundancy would have usually prevented the collision. Inman clarified that 84% of the over 15,000 recommendations the NTSB has issued have been accepted by agencies such as the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
