The Federal Reserve Bank of New York issued its March 2022 Survey on Monday, revealing another growth in short-term inflation expectations across all ages, education, and income groups. However, the medium-term inflation expectations decreased in the latest update.
Median one-year-ahead inflation expectations surged to a new series high of 6.6% in February, while on the other hand, median three-year expectations declined slightly to 3.7%. The median expected change in home prices for the year ahead also increased slightly to 6%, remaining above its pre-crisis levels.
