NY judge invalidates RFK Jr.'s state ballot access petition

EPA-EFE/ADAM DAVIS

A New York judge ruled that the independent candidate in the 2024 United States presidential election Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is not a resident of New York and invalidated his petition to appear on the state's ballot.

Justice Christina L. Ryba, a justice in a lower court in Albany, said Kennedy provided a false statement about his residence and he does not live at his purported address at 84 Croton Lake Road. Kennedy's connections to the Croton Lake Road address existed "only on paper" and were meant to enable him to maintain voter registration "and political standing in the State of New York."

The ruling is part of Kennedy's ongoing legal battle to gain access to ballots in states across the US. If upheld, the verdict could lead to his removal from ballots in other states.
