Ukraine's Naftogaz increased gas production in western Ukraine, using new technologies and equipment, the company's CEO Yuriy Vitrenko stated on Monday, adding that that the plant utilizes "all available options" to improve gas production even in the current state of war.
"Ukraine is struggling now and our company is struggling as well. We fight for every cubic meter of gas. We know the gas situation in Europe and are aware of the significance of our work. We are doing our best to increase domestic gas production," stated LvivGasVydobuvannya Gas Production Division Director Oleksandr Sendeha, with the facility contributing 2% more natural gas when compared to the last year's figure.
The energy giant's CEO revealed that the country's current gas storage facilities are completely full in the face of the heating season, while simultaneously securing alternative volumes from private producers, with over 200 million cubic meters purchased to date.
