The tech-heavy Nasdaq extended its losses after Wednesday's opening bell in New York, with Nvidia Corporation's stock dropping to its lowest level in nearly four weeks amid recent news that the incoming Trump administration could impose tariffs on goods coming out of Mexico.
Shares of Dell Technologies Inc. plunged 13.42% since the trading session opened after posting a lower-than-expected revenue for the third quarter. HP Inc.'s shares tumbled to their lowest level since late September, sinking 12.90% following its underwhelming closing quarter earnings.
The Nasdaq 100 plunged 1.04% at 10:40 am ET. The S&P 500 declined by 0.25%, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average added 0.20%.
The euro increased 0.80% compared to the dollar, changing hands to 1.05654.
