Wall Street extended gains made at the open on Wednesday after lower-than-projected United States composite purchasing managers' index figures seemingly sparked hopes that the Federal Reserve will not raise its main interest rate again this year.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average index increased 0.41% or 140 points at 11:12 am ET, with tech firms Intel, Apple, Microsoft, Salesforce and IBM among the best performers.
The Nasdaq 100 surged 1.47% and the S&P 500 rose by 0.87% at 11:12 am ET as Netflix pulled both indexes up with its over 5% jump. The euro was 0.06% higher than the dollar, going for 1.08531 at the same time.
