United States President Donald Trump's Senior Counselor for Trade and Manufacturing Peter Navarro said on Sunday that "everything is fine" between him and Tesla CEO and Trump ally Elon Musk despite the billionaire calling him a "moron" recently.

"So, first of all, Elon and I are great. It's not an issue," Navarro said during an appearance on NBC News' Meet the Press. "I've been called worse," he added.

Last week, Navarro claimed that Musk "doesn't understand" how other countries are cheating the US when it comes to trade, which led to Musk calling the White House aide "truly a moron" and "dumber than a sack of bricks."
