Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in a CBS interview affirmed that a military operation in Rafah is inevitable, even if a deal with Hamas is reached, though such an agreement may delay the offensive.
Despite warnings from European allies and calls from the US for a "credible" civilian protection plan before the assault, Netanyahu remains resolute in the intention to address the situation in Rafah militarily. "If we don’t have a deal, we’ll do it anyway," he said.
The news comes after the White House said the deal is still being negotiated.
