Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is said to have criticized the negotiators involved in the Gaza ceasefire discussions, accusing them of displaying "weakness" and seeking "ways to capitulate," while he claims to be "on his own" in safeguarding Israel's security, Channel 12 reported on Thursday.
While earlier reports highlighted Prime Minister Netanyahu's disagreements with key Israeli negotiators including Mossad Chief David Barnea, Shin Bet Chief Ronen Bar, and Israeli Defense Forces General Nitzan Alon, Channel 12 now reveals that Netanyahu is actively voicing these concerns to his political allies.
According to Channel 12, negotiators seem to view Netanyahu's insistence on maintaining an Israeli presence at the Gaza-Egypt border as a hindrance to the negotiations. The report indicated that the Philadelphi Corridor was a "central issue" of discussion during last night's phone call between Netanyahu, US President Joe Biden, and Vice President Kamala Harris.
