Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Friday that Israel informed the United States ahead of its strike on Iran, adding that it will be up to US President Donald Trump to decide what American forces will do next.

"The US knew about the attack in advance - what they do now, I leave to the president," Netanyahu said, noting that "Trump makes decisions independently." The prime minister revealed that he previously "set the implementation date" for the end of April, which was postponed for various reasons before arriving at this one on the recommendation of the IDF.

"I was unable to attack Iran in my previous terms. I wanted to go twice and was unable to muster the majority," Netanyahu explained, adding that the goal is to first address Iran's missile production capacities.
