The Dutch Ministry of Defense announced on Friday that the Netherlands will train 26 Ukrainians as so-called crew chiefs for the F-16 fighter jets.
The program was outlined following high-level talks and will take place in April to prepare the Ukrainian military for final safety checks before aircraft take-off. Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov thanked his Dutch counterpart Ruben Brekelmans for the continuing support, naming the F-16 program a top priority, followed by drone assistance allocation.
Last November, Brekelmans revealed that his country had pledged €88 million towards new air defense systems for Kiev.
