New Zealand's new Prime Minister Chris Hipkins stressed on Thursday that his country's labor shortage represents a significant concern for businesses, adding he won't rule out adjustments to the immigration law in the future to address the issue.
Following his meeting with business leaders in Tamaki Makaurau, he said the government's priority is for the New Zealanders to get into the workforce first. "We've got to get the balance right there... Right the way across the workforce we're seeing skill shortages ... as a government we're working on addressing that at all levels," he added.
