Newsom deploys more National Guard to LA

California Governor Gavin Newsom announced that he is deploying 1,000 more National Guard service members to Los Angeles.

"The now approx. 2,500 service members mobilized will continue to help keep the communities devastated by the fires safe," Newsom wrote on X.

California has mobilized more than 15,000 personnel to support the ongoing firefight, including firefighters, guard service members, highway patrol officers and transportation teams, the governor's office said.
