Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov argued on Monday that the meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky won't occur until negotiators have "done their homework."
Commenting on the war in Ukraine, Peskov insisted Ukraine's military forces should stop shelling the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Station in the southeast while warning of "catastrophic consequences" if strikes persist. Both sides accused each other of hitting Europe's largest nuclear plant with missiles.
Talks between the two warring sides stalled over the past months, with no hints of negotiations resuming in the near future. However, Russia and Ukraine separately reached an agreement mediated by Turkey on grain export.
