The United States government has "really no basis" to investigate Elon Musk's acquisition of Twitter Inc., US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said on Tuesday.
US President Joe Biden said last week that the deal and Musk's links to other countries were "worthy of being looked at," but Yellen told CBS News that she is "not sure precisely what" Biden "had in mind" when making that remark.
She stressed that she is not aware of any concerns that could lead to an official investigation into the merger.
