Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova noted on Thursday that Moscow has not had any talks on restoring peace in Ukraine with Washington so far. The statement was made during her weekly press briefing when she said that it seems to her that the Biden administration ''forbids'' its diplomats in Kiev to ''even think about negotiations.''
In addition, Zakharova paid attention to the fact that Ukraine will soon obtain longer-range missiles for its American HIMARS installations, after Ukraine stated it will use them for conducting attacks on Crimea. The spokeswoman referred to such intentions as aggressive ones, adding that even the Ukrainian foreign minister does not accept ''the hypothetical possibility of peace talks.''
The news follows a similar claim made yesterday by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. The minister said he believes the Ukrainian delegation will be stopped by the United States in case Kiev decides to revive the negotiations with Moscow.
