Nordstrom surges 12% amid reports of going private

Shares of Nordstrom experienced a significant uptick, soaring over 12% on Tuesday, following reports that the renowned department store chain is exploring the possibility of going private.

The Nordstrom founding family is in consultation with Morgan Stanley and Centerview Partners to gauge interest from private equity firms in a potential deal. However, Morgan Stanley has refrained from commenting on the matter.

As of 10:35 am ET, Nordstrom shares traded up 12.59% to sell at $19.23.
