North Korean Permanent Representative to the United Nations (UN) Kim Song told the UN Security Council (UNSC) on Monday that his country will accelerate the process of strengthening its nuclear capabilities to be able to respond to "any threat" the "hostile nations" could pose.
At the same meeting, dedicated to North Korea's recent missile tests, Russian Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN Anna Evstigneeva defended Pyongyang, saying that its actions do not come "out of nowhere" but are a response to the United States' aggressive plan for the region.
Furthermore, Evstigneeva urged South Korea not to send weapons to Ukraine, which is currently under Russia's military campaign, as it "will not lead to anything good for Seoul."
