A recent investigation revealed that a North Korean hacking group is responsible for a substantial breach of personal information from the computer network of South Korean courts, according to Yonhap.
Over a span of two years, from January 2021 to February 2023, approximately 1,014 gigabytes of data and documents were compromised. The hacking group, believed to be Lazarus, targeted Seoul's court system, obtaining detailed personal information such as names, resident registration numbers and financial records.
Authorities, including the South Korean National Intelligence Service, reportedly conducted a joint probe into the incident last December.
