Nuclear accident feared at power plant in Ukraine

Alexey Likhachev, CEO of Russian energy agency Rosatom, warned on Monday of a possible nuclear accident at the atomic power plant in Zaporizhzhia. He said that the agency was "in negotiations with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) all night."

The comments come after Russia accused Ukraine of shelling the plant on Sunday.

Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered Russia to take control of the plant in October, transferring its Ukrainian staff to a Russian entity, something Kiev has labeled as theft. The IAEA has urged for a security zone to be made around the plant which is something Moscow has welcomed but says it is up to the United States to make it possible.
