Nvidia: Huawei to capitalize in China amid US curbs

Nvidia Corp. CEO Jensen Huang said on Thursday that Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. will capitalize on its position and back China if Washington continues to lift AI semiconductor restrictions on Beijing.

"Our technology is a generation ahead of theirs ... [But] If the US doesn't want to partake, participate in China, Huawei has got China covered, and Huawei has got everybody else covered," Huang disclosed for CNBC at the sidelines of the Viva Technology conference in Paris, as China shifts focus from US semiconductors to domestic companies in order to construct its own artificial intelligence chip ecosystem.

Just yesterday, US Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick acknowledged Beijing as a "competitor" in the AI and chips sector, but added that Washington won't let it obtain the best US-made chips.
