Former United States President Donald Trump won Georgia's Republican primary, inching closer to securing the party's presidential nomination, according to projections by CNN.
Trump secured a victory in the state with 59 Republican delegates at stake. He faced no serious competition in the Peach State, with former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley withdrawing from the presidential race last week.
Notably, the state went for US President Joe Biden by less than a quarter of a percentage point in 2020, with Trump insisting the results in Georgia were rigged.
