Nvidia announced new artificial intelligence chips on Tuesday at its GTC conference in San Jose, California. During the presentation, CEO Jensen Huang introduced Blackwell Ultra, an upgraded AI chip family set to launch in late 2025, alongside Vera Rubin, a next-generation GPU system expected in 2026.
According to Huang, Vera Rubin will feature Nvidia's first custom-designed CPU, which is expected to provide twice the performance of previous models. Additionally, the new version of the Blackwell series, known as Blackwell Ultra, will be capable of producing more tokens per second.
That enhancement could enable revenue generation that is up to 50 times greater from the new chips compared to the Hopper generation. Nvidia also announced AI-focused laptops and desktops and networking upgrades for large-scale GPU operations.
