A senior administration official praised US President Joe Biden’s global leadership, emphasizing his role in revitalizing the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, according to PBS on Friday.
"Foreign leaders have seen Joe Biden up close and personal for the last three years. They know who they're dealing with, and how effective he has been," the official remarked, stressing that Biden "has reinvigorated NATO alliance… he has stood up to President [Vladimir] Putin's unprecedented aggression… And he has worked to invigorate our partnerships around the world…"
Amid the heat of the first presidential debate, the comments seek to contrast Biden's role in the alliance with that of former President Donald Trump, whose approach often questioned the value of the alliance.
