Ohio's Republican Governor Mike DeWine has won the reelection against Democrat Nan Whaley, according to projections called by NBC News and CNN on Tuesday.

The Ohio election was mostly defined by the government's response to the coronavirus pandemic as well as issues related to recently changed rights to abortion. According to exit polls conducted for CNN, over 75% of Ohio voters think the United States economy isn't in great shape at this moment, while more than 50% of the voters disapprove of President Joe Biden's policies.

DeWine, a 75-year-old, held the position of Ohio Attorney General between 2011 and 2019, while also serving as a senator and House representative during his political career. He has been serving as the Ohio governor since 2019.
