Oil dips by 3% after Trump's tariff update

The prices of oil futures plunged by almost 3% on Friday as investors assessed the impact of United States President Donald Trump's numerous sets of tariffs on different countries and industry sectors that are set to take effect on August 7.

West Texas Intermediate (WTI) for September's deliveries plunged by 3.09% at 12:33 pm ET to $67.18 per barrel. Meanwhile, Brent for settlements in October slid by 3.12% to $69.47 per barrel.

US oil inventories reportedly down by 3.42M barrels
Crude oil inventories in the United States decreased by 3.42 million barrels in the week that ended September 12, private data from the American Petroleum Institute (API) reportedly showed on Tuesday.Distillate inventories are said to have jumped by 1.90 million barrels, and gasoline stockpiles fell by 691,000 barrels. During the corresponding week, reserves in Cushing, allegedly declined by 379,000 barrels.
Oil climbs 1% amid supply concerns
The prices of oil futures went up by 1% on Tuesday, as Russian oil companies signal a potential output cut. According to Reuters, Russia's Transneft warned producers about a possible reduction in oil supplies, amid intensified attacks on Russian energy infrastructure.
