Oil tumbles 1% as economic worries bite

The prices of oil futures lost their footing on Wednesday, trading in the red territory, as uncertainty over what might happen to the global economy in the future seemingly affected demand prospects.

West Texas Intermediate (WTI) for October deliveries slid 1.13% to sell at $74.69 per barrel at 4:32 am ET. A minute later, Brent for the same month settlements declined 1.03%, going for $78.74 a barrel.
