Harris talks hostage release with Israel's Herzog

United States Vice President Kamala Harris in talks with Israeli President Isaac Herzog at the Munich Security Conference affirmed Washington's commitment to securing the release of hostages held by Hamas.

"We discussed efforts to achieve a prolonged pause in fighting, the importance of increasing humanitarian assistance, and the continued planning for post-conflict Gaza," she wrote in a post on X, formerly Twitter.

This meeting follows US President Joe Biden expressing his strong stance on a temporary ceasefire to facilitate the release of hostages during his talks with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu.
