OpenAI's rival Anthropic allegedly secures $1B from Google

Google LLC, a subsidiary of Alphabet Inc., is investing another $1 billion in Anthropic, a major rival to OpenAI, the Financial Times reported on Wednesday.

This adds to the $2 billion Google already committed to the start-up, reinforcing its position in the AI industry. Anthropic, valued at nearly $60 billion, is set to receive an additional $2 billion from venture capital firms.

This comes after US President Donald Trump announced Stargate, a $500 billion AI infrastructure project, joined by leaders from Oracle Corporation, SoftBank Group Corp. and OpenAI LP.
