OpenAI Inc. CEO Sam Altman announced the company's partnership with Common Sense Media to better implement artificial intelligence (AI) in education and help teenagers use it in a safe manner.
"We want to figure out how to make this tool safely and responsibly and broadly available to teens and people who are going to use it as part of their educational experience," Altman said at a Common Sense Event in San Francisco. Common Sense Media CEO Jim Steyer shared in a statement that the partnership will enable educators and parents to understand the proper and "safe" use of ChatGPT so that any "unintended consequences" of this technology could be avoided.
Common Sense is a non-profit organization working on an AI ratings and review system that will better help parents, children and educators understand the potential advantages and disadvantages of AI use.
