OpenAI and Meta have held separate discussions with India's Reliance Industries about potential artificial intelligence partnerships, according to a report by The Information on Saturday.
The talks aim to expand the companies' AI presence in India through platforms like ChatGPT and Meta's language models.
One possibility is for Reliance Jio to distribute ChatGPT locally. Reliance has also explored reselling OpenAI's models via API to enterprise clients and potentially hosting them in India. The models could be deployed at a massive three-gigawatt data center Reliance plans to build in Jamnagar, Gujarat, which it claims will be the world's largest.
