OPENAI / YOUTUBE

OpenAI announced on Monday that it is rolling out its artificial intelligence (AI) video-generation tool Sora today, both in the United States and most countries internationally.

"This is a completely new product experience from OpenAI, built from the ground up, for video generation," the company said during a presentation, adding that the customers who already have ChatGPT Plus or Pro accounts will be able to access the tool free of charge. Those with a Plus account will be able to "generate up to 50 videos at 480p resolution or fewer videos at 720p each month," while the Pro plan includes "10x [times] more usage, higher resolutions, and longer durations."

While the firm presented the product earlier this year, it explained that the version being released today is called Sora Turbo as it is a "new high-end accelerated version" of the original Sora model.
