OpenAI will supposedly open its first Asian office in Tokyo this month, Nikkei Asia reported on Monday.

The developer of ChatGPT aims to start providing corporate services in the region, including customer support. OpenAI's CEO Sam Altman met with Japan's Prime Minister Fumio Kishida last April, hinting at the possibility of launching the first Asian base in the country.

The company will also most likely hire local Japanese talent.
