OpenAI to total $44B in losses through 2028

OpenAI will suffer $44 billion in losses from 2023 to 2028, including $5 billion this year, the Information reported citing the company's financial analysis. It will not turn a profit before 2029, when it is expected to make $14 billion.

A big part of OpenAI's expenses is its artificial intelligence model training, which is projected to cost as much as $9.5 billion a year in 2026. According to the report, the company plans to spend over $200 billion by 2030, 60% to 80% of which will be spent on training and running the models. The report also suggested OpenAi's investor Microsoft takes a 20% cut of its revenues.
