Economic Advisor to Russian President Vladimir Putin, Maxim Oreshkin (pictured) told Expert media outlet in an interview that Moscow has become Europe's largest economy and is already breathing down Japan's neck in the race for fourth place in the world.
He noted that, while China became the leading global economy, "the so-called economies of the Global North - the United States, Japan, and the EU - are slowly losing their role, their importance."
On the other hand, Oreshkin predicted that the US, "once it finishes cannibalizing its European partners by killing their chemical, automotive and other industries, will concentrate on Asian markets."
