According to Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya, 51 aftershocks have since been recorded, with the strongest registering a reported magnitude of 5.9. Emergency services remain on high alert as authorities assess structural damage and continue to monitor seismic activity across the region, with many residents staying in Istanbul's parks fearing potential afteshocks.
