Executive chairman of corrugated packaging company Pratt Industries, Inc., Anthony Pratt, pledged to invest $5 billion in support of United States President Donald Trump's initiative to increase domestic manufacturing in the country, Axios reported on Wednesday, citing an emailed Pratt Industries statement.
The Australian billionaire, who chairs the company that boasts being "the world's largest, privately-held producer of 100% recycled containerboard," supported the US president in January already, by paying for a full-page ad in The New York Times to congratulate Trump on his presidency. His pledge was made ahead of Trump's upcoming "Invest in America" event on Thursday, which Pratt allegedly plans to attend, along with executives from other major companies.
"To make America great again we need to make in America again," Prat said, according to the report."That's why I'm proud to support the president's call to reindustrialize America and again make the US the manufacturing powerhouse of the world," he reportedly added.
